The Movement Solutions Program guides participants in a wide range of innovative neuro-motor processes designed to address common movement problems. Solutions One focuses particularly on the back, and the legs with special attention to low back compression and stiffness, chest/rib rigidity and pain, and alignment issues in the legs. Themes will include restoring the resilience and "springiness" of the ankles, feet and knees, aligning the hips, releasing low back compression, improving overall alignment and mobility in the trunk, and developing more options and resilience for recovering balance.

The Movement Solutions Program applies the Feldenkrais Method's® integrative approach to functioning; exploring the reciprocal relationship between the area of suffering and its network of roots throughout the entire body. The result will be restoration of harmonious cooperation, so that the body is able to work as nature intended. Ruthy Alon's Movement Intelligence exercises are all designed as self-care strategies so that participants will leave the program with tools they can use at home. Participants will be empowered to awaken their own, self-correcting intelligence, so that their organism is able to overcome its own functional failures with better options for efficient, coordinated action.

This Movement Intelligence Solutions workshop is open to everyone. Prior experience with the Feldenkrais Method or other Movement Solutions programs is recommended. The program will be of particular interest to Graduates of other Movement Intelligence programs and Feldenkrais Teachers who wish have the opportunity to experience Ruthy Alon's boundless creativity and inspirational teaching. The program is sure to enrich your teaching tool-kit with practical self-care solutions and sophisticated strategies for helping others to move with ease.

**You will also need a piece of fabric to use as a wrap. The fabric wrap is 7 meters (7 yards, 21" x 45" wide) of cotton fabric, purchased at JoAnn Fabrics. It is called "Country Classic" and is found in the quilter's section, or can be purchased at an equivalent store. JoAnn's frequently offers coupons on its website, joann.com.

(October 8th, the workshop continues for Feldenkrais practitioners and students. Please visit Advanced Trainings for more info.)

Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Lunch is an hour and 15 minutes.

A Feldenkrais workshop for golfers, anyone involved in rotary sports or activities, therapists, trainers and Feldenkrais practitioners.

Our body is designed to be able to turn in upright position, a human specialty, yet a lot of people get hurt when it comes to rotation. Joint restrictions or rotational movement in the “wrong” place such as the low back often are the cause. When it comes to athletic performance such as golf or tennis, or rotation in daily life like parking a car, certain physical laws and principles need to be understood in order to play and move well. Being able to bring mindful movement into your practice can lead to functional improvement. Self-awareness integrated with a meditative attitude can lead to new patterns of moving, thinking, feeling and improved athleticism.

In this workshop, we explain the theory of rotation, stability and impulse principles and how these forces act on the body. Using ATMs we will explore rotation along the spine, movement of the pelvis and the feet and ankles. You will be guided through a mindfulness based meditation to learn how to focus your attention to integrate and harness the full potential of the discoveries uncovered in the movement explorations.

On the first day, October 7th, we invite golfers, tennis players and other athletes, Feldenkrais practitioners, therapists and trainers to participate.

(The second day, October 8th, is exclusively for Feldenkrais practitioners, and 3rd and 4th year students in Feldenkrais Trainings. )

In this workshop you will:

- understand the theory of rotation from an anatomical and structural stand point- learn how to be efficient in a rotary sports and daily activities.

- experience the connection of mind and body

- feel improvements in your own posture and balance

- learn how to use the power of the pelvis
